Symbols = Number Two 2

Two in scripture can be interpreted as “witness” or honest report of the truth. It forms both the basis of Old Testament as well as New Testament law.

Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sin at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established. Matthew 18:16 ….. in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

The Bible is replete with various repetitions of the facts throughout. We have 4 gospels, with many overlaps of information all intended to meet this 2 or 3 witness rule.

1 Timothy 5:19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

If you have only one person in opposition, you 1 do not have enough testimony. The priests had to pay two people to lie about Jesus in order to get Him crucified. In our nation (USA) we demand that you “confront your accuser.” There are many cases of miscarriages of justice because the woman says he raped her and there is no 2nd witness. Fortunately DNA now frees such men from these accusations.

There are dozens of “twos” throughout the scripture – two testaments, 2 witnesses (prophets) in Revelation both being raised miraculously from the dead in the center of Jerusalem. Perhaps we will live to see that on TV? Revelation 11:3.

You need two scriptures to prove a truth. THE SUM OF THY WORD IS TRUTH. (Psalm 119:160 NAS) Beware of any religion that focuses on only one verse, or even part of one verse. Get the whole picture.

The extent of two is too great to cover here. They entered the ark two by two, and so on. Try an online concordance to search this out. So now if you dream about two, you have a clue to knowing what your dream means.
