We hear this all the time
Men say they don’t understand women and then laugh. Laughter is a sign someone is hiding something or embarrassed, or even lying. (I’ll explain how I know that later.)
Here is what is going on. If someone knows the truth then he is responsible for the information, now he is accountable for acting in concert with the truth. Men do not want to know anything about women so they won’t need to answer to God for what they do. Or, while we are at it, they don’t want to answer to man or the law either.
Women have their own set of tricks which we will also put off for another time.
Standard evasive movement
Nothing is new here. Human beings do not want to answer to God for their behavior, opinions, actions and decisions. In fact if the little drama in the Garden of Eden proves anything it is that human beings want their own will, and if, perchance, they can avoid knowing God’s will, then how can anyone hold them responsible for not doing it?
Ignorance on the Throne
Not knowing now becomes an article of faith, and ignorance is elevated. The Bible speaks about this in the epistles. For example, Peter calls them willfully ignorant.
2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant
Paul says, if that is what they want, then leave them alone.
1 Corinthians 14:38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Now about laughter. Here is where Sarah laughed in the Old Testament when she heard she was pregnant. Remember she was a close to 90 years old.
Genesis 18:15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
Sarah laughed because she was caught denying what she knew to be true – same with men saying they don’t understand women. They’ve been exposed. And their laughter does it.
Human beings have all kinds of ways to deny the truth, such as addiction to alcohol, drugs or food, any addiction for that matter which takes over the life and becomes the focal point of life itself.
God wants truth He said “in the inward parts” that is entering your whole being and taking over. You will now be honest with yourself, not guilty or blaming yourself or others but seeing yourself through God’s eyes, and that is not bad. God loves you and wants truth inside you. Then He can make you into an agent for His purposes.
Sarah named the baby Isaac, meaning laughter. Why? Because she had victory and when you laugh, God knows you have the victory.
