The Anarchist, the Day Yahshua Returns

A House Divided

You can look at modern 2020 life in one of two ways, as reliving the story of the Pied Pier leading rats to the sea to drown (C.E. 1284), based on a very real event in the 13th century, or a fulfilling of Christian prophecy of the year (C.E. 54) in 2 Thessalonians 2. An example of when the spirit of antiChrist takes over people as a group

Not just the Americans but the entire human race is badly divided. Britain has agonized about leaving the European Union for two years now. The Congress of the United States has done basically nothing for three years as one party like a rabid dog seeks to depose the President. Media tell one story; statistics tell quite another about how Americans think.

Hong Kong young people have not discontinued their months long rebellion against the control of Beijing Communists. Iran is in internal conflict. Much of the continent of Africa is at war with itself. In South Africa killers enter the homes of farmers, shoot the husband and take over the land. War, not peace, rages all over the planet.

Here is what a prophet 2000 years ago had to say about this:

2 Thessolonians 1-3 Now, friends, read these next words carefully. Slow down and don’t go jumping to conclusions regarding the day when our Master, Jesus Christ, will come back and we assemble to welcome him. Don’t let anyone shake you up or get you excited over some breathless report or rumored letter from me that the day of the Master’s arrival has come and gone. Don’t fall for any line like that.

3-5 Before that day comes, a couple of things have to happen. First, the Apostasy. Second, the debut of the Anarchist, a real dog of Satan. He’ll defy and then take over every so-called god or altar. Having cleared away the opposition, he’ll then set himself up in God’s Temple as “God Almighty.” Don’t you remember me going over all this in detail when I was with you? Are your memories that short?

6-8 You’ll also remember that I told you the Anarchist is being held back until just the right time. That doesn’t mean that the spirit of anarchy is not now at work. It is, secretly and underground. But the time will come when the Anarchist will no longer be held back, but will be let loose. But don’t worry. The Master Jesus will be right on his heels and blow him away. The Master appears and—puff!—the Anarchist is out of there.

Traditionally Bible scholars believe that the AntiChrist, Anarchist, whatever he is called will set himself up as god in Jerusalem. And this might happen. But for Christians the Temple of God is them – their bodies, their spirits.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1 Corinthians 6:19 know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

I quoted the King James here to use the word “ye” which is plural – in other words You All. “Don’t you know you all are the temple of God?” The photo above shows the degradation of the human body and its being overwhelmed by the presence of sin.

So the better interpretation here is that the evil antichrist spirit will inhabit the bodies of backsliden believers and unbelievers. That seems to be the case across the planet. Everyone will have made their decision – for good or evil and then Jesus (Yeshua) comes to recognize His own people.

How to Pray for Iran & the Middle East

by Lance Wallnau
Prophetic WARNING
from a man with an eerily accurate track record.

Joel C. Rosenberg now lives in Israel and writes from his bomb shelter basement. His first book “The Last Jihad” blew people away and became an 11-week New York Times Best Seller. He wrote it to warn Americans about the danger of radical Islam, thinking he was four or five years ahead of the threat. He was shocked that 9-11 happened as fast as it did the way it did.

He is worried the same scenario is about to happen now with ISIS.

JORDAN IS OUR FRIEND!
Rosenberg says: “I am deeply concerned that ISIS is plotting major attacks not only against the U.S. and Israel, but also Jordan and other Arab allies in the Middle East.” (more…)

It’s Easy to Lie about the Crusades

crusader…. because Americans pay so little attention to history.  The media, and more recently the former President {Obama}, can say what they will.  It is as though time began last week and no one will know the difference. This article should straighten things out.

Jihadis 14, Crusaders 2 from National Review Onine
The president Obama perverts history (again).

By Ralph Peters

In his ignorant and bigoted remarks to religious leaders this week, President Obama parroted jihadi propaganda. Bored (when not annoyed) by facts, the president referred to the Crusades and the Inquisition as evidence of the horrors religion can wreak. That kind of talk emboldens the Islamist line that Christian bad behavior justifies the Middle East’s bad behavior even today.

The president knows as little about history as he does about warfare, and even less about religion. But he’s not alone. With the Left’s successful destruction of history instruction in our schools and universities, even “well-educated” creatures of Washington accept the Arab fantasy that the cultural incompetence, practical indolence, and spiritual decay of the entire Middle East stems from Richard Coeur de Lion’s twelfth-century swordplay. 2,600 year old Contract on the Jews

History does not, in this case, merely repeat itself; it is still very much in effect. 2,600 years ago in Persia (modern Iran) an egotistical political figure managed to engineer a way to destroy the entire Jewish people.  His name was Haman and he met an appropriate death – by hanging. gallows-858572__340 His contract, however, is still in effect today.  Iran still intends to destroy Israel and everyone in it, and such was the message of Bibi Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel.

Haman’s plan was foiled, and it will be again as God has made it clear –  Israel is Forever.  Fi e years ago feckless President Obama became a subsidiary agent of this contract of death by naively believing that Iran has only a need for utility power, and not obvious revenge on a tiny nation the size of New Jersey.  There is no evidence that Iran has changed its political goal of the total annihilation of tiny Israel. If anything it is much worse now that Iran is suffering from its aggressive policies towards the rest of the world. Iran promises have not turned out to be genuine. (more…)

The Return of Jesus

The best explanation I have yet to hear of the return of Jesus Yehshua Christ. Author Asher Intrater brings the sons of Ishmael, Jacob and the gentile Christians, that is the faith children of Father Abraham, together to rule and reign with the Messiah. It makes perfect sense to me that Yahweh (God) would not bring His son back without the entire complement of believers.

The Difference between Islam, Judaism & Christianity

An explanation of the Soleimani killing for my foreign readers.

Iran’s air power compared to USA

Judaism is a monotheism based on the written Bible, primarily the Old Testament with emphasis on the first five books known as the Torah. The Jews were required by Yahweh to obey the laws as given by Yahweh and were promised a Messiah who would deliver the nation from her enemies.

Christianity is a monotheism based on the written Jewish Bible plus a New Testament of writings after the sacrifice of the Messiah Yahshua for the sins of the world. In addition to the laws of the Old Testament they also accept and believe the promises of the New Testament offering them the mercy of Yahweh as gentiles.

Islam is also a monotheism because it has the same father of the faithful, Abraham, but have added to that doctrines from a prophet known as Mohammed. Islam kept the Old Testament genealogies but did not add the Messiah Yahshua. They believe that dying for the faith will bring them redemption of their sins, not the sacrifice of Yahshua.

They also believe that Islam will be the worldwide religion of all peoples and that killing non-believers, also called infidels, is acceptable in order to make this come true.

So the chief difference between them is the method of salvation and a place in the afterlife:

  • Jews believe the slaughter of the sacrificial temple animals gave them their salvation from sin for one year.
  • The Christians believe in the single death of Yahshua (Jesus) brings them the salvation from sins and it happened only one time.
  • Islam believes that their personal death for the faith gives them their salvation.

The Bible says, “Can any two walk together lest they be agreed?

Clearly there is no fundamental agreement here.  The world yearns for peace.  Looking at this list of beliefs one cannot see peace unless two groups agree with the third. It is the other subsidiary beliefs that cause the trouble.

Now to explain the death of Qassem Soleimani, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, by the United States on Jan. 2. There is a long history behind this act.

Embassies are Protected Places

First, our embassy was attacked.  Embassies across the globe are protected territory so that Chinese, the British, the French and everyone else is safe on their own territory in Tehran just as the Americans.  When they attacked our embassy they violated international law.  It is possible that President Trump and his military advisers were waiting for just an excuse like this to take the guy out legally as he has been a terrorist for a long time and a gifted general.

Profits from War

Second, if the information came from CNN about American politics it is false – not just occasionally but all the time. CNN is owned by investors who support the Democratic party.  Many Democrats use money to finance their campaigns for office garnered both legally from lobbies and also under the table from foreign nations, all actions now pending in the Department of Justice.  The Democrats have been using Ukraine as a convenient ATM machine to finance their business which is what Trump asked the Ukrainians to investigate. Yes, this is treason and it is hard to prove but expect more indictments this year.

Some of these are the manufacturers of military equipment and as you know airplanes are very expensive.  Many Democrats think a war would get rid of Trump.    The gun merchants have been around a long time.  Our President in 1956 called it the Military-Industrial Complex.  Money spent on the military drains it from private citizens who need that money for schools, hospitals and other needs. So this didn’t start yesterday!

It was the military expenses that defeated the Soviet Union in the long run.  It was spending 32% of its budget on military while President Reagan was spending 12% here in the USA.  There was no way Gorbachev could keep up with us in this area and the Russians were getting poorer and poorer so it all collapsed in 1989. Russia has never really recovered.

Iran is Committed to War Everywhere

Third, Iran is a religious dictatorship.  Islam believes that all men everywhere will be Islamic and that starting a war with any country and converting them, by any means possible, including murder, is acceptable to their god whose name is Allah.  Allah is not to be confused with the god of Israel or the Christians.

There are pockets of Islamic rule in the USA, remember that all our government bodies are local, under what they call Sharia Law, which is extremely harsh.  For example if  woman dates a white man or a man from another religion she can be legally murdered by her male relatives.  This is called honor killing.

In the USA no one is permitted to kill any sentient being and not answer for it, including your dog.  So the presence of Islamic people is a real problem here because we allow complete freedom of religion.  Obama was a Muslim and he was dealing with the Muslim nations and letting them away with murder.  One of the reasons Trump was elected was to stop this.

I’ve attached a graph to show you the military strength of Iran.  You can see it would be suicide for them to attack us in any real measure, so they will just be an annoyance as long as they can and use the news media to make people think they are stronger than they are.

Iran’s Internal Woes

Fourth, The dissidents in Iran, mostly people your age and younger, want the religious leaders GONE.  They have been begging us for 20 plus years to help them get rid of the Mullahs, but our laws prevent us from engaging in any civil wars.  We are committed to our treaty holders, like Israel.

Israel is Protected

And speaking of Israel, Iran constantly threatens them with militarily trouble, and every day has rockets coming at them.  Israel has a special Iron Shield however that as soon as a rocket goes off, a computer sends a missile into the air to destroy it.  Apparently they don’t even need people to run the machine!  But Israel is very small and our chief ally in the Middle East.  Israel is very happy that this general is gone.

Fifth, if Iran wants our business then we can protect our Iranian property and people.  But if they want our businessmen to leave, which they don’t, then they have to let us defend our people.  American businessmen bring a lot of cash to Iran so Iran must decide – American money or send us all home?  Can’t have it both ways.

End to Oil Dependency

Sixth, we no longer need Iran’s oil.  In 2019 the President announced that we are now oil-independent.  We do not need to buy a single drop of oil from any foreign nation, friend or foe. Period. Iran thought their spigots of oil would never run dry.  They thought we’d be buying at their inflated prices forever and ever.  Not so.  So Iran is in a difficult place.

In addition Saudi Arabia does not like Iran either, so their friendships in the Middle East are shrinking, and the Saudis are much larger, stronger and richer than Iran. The ball is in Iran’s court as the saying goes.

Finally, CNN would have you believe that Trump is in trouble. To the contrary, he is extremely strong with the common man;  only the politicians who have been living off bribes, lobbyists and under the counter deals are unhappy with him, and the DC bureaucracy. The rest of us are rejoicing.  He promised to drain the swamp and he is doing it.

Facts about Israel, the Chosen People

Several years ago a correspondent known only as Jafon sent me this text. Now as then the Jews are a source of constant comment and controversy. His remarks will help you understand who they are and what to expect in the future. This is the most complete and thorough discussion of this topic I’ve ever seen, including scriptures, worthy of a Bible study course for believers.

Fact #1. The God’s Chosen People and their Land. Jewish people are the Chosen People:

Eretz means Land

After Adam and Eve sinned, humanity deteriorated so badly that God destroyed the early world of men with the Great Flood. Noah and his family knew the Lord, and were spared, but after they came out of the Ark and started repopulating, their descendants abandoned God, became idolatrous, perverse and evil. Then God created a special nation to be a light to the other nations. The Creator of the universe specifically chose the nation of Israel to be that unique people who would witness to His reality. “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the people who are on the face of the Earth” (Deuteronomy 7:6).

“You are My witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me. I, even I am the Lord; and there is no Savior beside Me” (Isaiah 43:10-11). If the Chosen People were faithful to our calling, God promised to bless us above all the other nations, so that the nations of the world would know that the God of Israel is the true God who alone can save us, by reconciling us to Himself, thereby restoring us to peace, joy, blessing and life. But if we were disobedient to our calling, the Lord promised to severely punish us so that the nations of the world would learn a lesson from us, and know that it is a terrible thing to disobey the God of Israel. Either way, through our obedience or disobedience, the Chosen People would witness to the other nations of the world that the God of Israel is to be reckoned with.

Fact #2. The Land of Israel belongs to God:

“The Earth is the Lord’s and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it” (Psalm 24:1). Since the entire world belongs to God, He has the right to apportion it as He chooses, and He specifically gave the nations their lands based on the Jewish people’s right to the Land of Israel! “When the Most High gave the nations their inheritance, when He separated the sons of man, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of Israel. For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance” (Deuteronomy 32:8-9).

Fact #3. The Chosen People needed a Chosen Land, and so the God of Israel strategically chose the Land of Israel for the People of Israel:

“This is Jerusalem; I have set her at the center of the nations, with lands around her” (Ezekiel 5:5). The Land that God chose for us is located in the center of the nations, connecting the continents of Europe, Africa and Asia. Because of this strategic location, the Jewish people had ample exposure to all the nations of the world.

Fact #4. The Land of Israel was given by God to the descendants of Abraham as an everlasting possession:

“The Lord appeared to Abram and said, ‘To your descendants I will give this Land’” (Genesis 12:7). God further said to Abraham: “I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. And I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:7-8).

Fact #5. Even though Abraham had many sons, the Land of Israel wasn’t given to Ishmael,

or to any of the other sons of Abraham, but only to Isaac: “Abraham said to God, ‘Oh that Ishmael might live before You!’ But God said ‘No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him’” (Genesis 17:18-19). God rejected Abraham’s request that Ishmael be the heir of the covenant, and appointed Isaac instead. Years later the Lord God appeared to Isaac and said, “to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham. And I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and will give your descendants all these lands; and by your descendants all the nations of the Earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 26:3-4). Knowing that Isaac was the heir of the covenant, which included the Land of Israel, Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac. He gave gifts to his other sons, but he sent them away to the lands of the east, not wanting the heir of the everlasting covenant to have rivalry over the Land of Israel from his siblings (Genesis 25:5-6).

Fact #6. Even though Isaac had two sons, the Land wasn’t given to Esau, but to Jacob:

One night Jacob had a dream while fleeing from his brother Esau. In his dream the Lord said to him, “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the Land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your descendants.” (Genesis 28:13). God later appeared to Jacob and said to him, “the Land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, and I will give the Land to your descendants after you” (Genesis 35:11-12). This promise deeds the Land of Israel to the descendants of Jacob – the Jewish people of today.

Fact #7. There is no doubt about Israel’s God-given borders because they are described for us in detail in the Holy Scriptures:

“The Lord said to Abram after Lot had separated from him, ‘Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever… Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you’” (Genesis 13:14-17). “The Lord made a covenant with Abraham, saying, ‘To your descendants I have given this Land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates’” (Genesis 15:18-21). “I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates” (Exodus 23:31). Therefore we must conclude that the entire Land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria (the so-called “West Bank”), Gaza, the Golan Heights, and all of Jerusalem, was given by the God of Israel to the people of Israel in perpetuity. We, and we alone, have been given the title to the Land of Israel as a permanent inheritance by the Lord. No human government or coalition of governments has the right or authority to cede portions of the Land of Israel to anyone else.

Fact #8. In addition to the everlasting covenant (which includes the Land), God swore an oath to give the Jewish people this Land:

Keep in mind that it’s absolutely impossible for God to break an oath (see Hebrews 6:16-18). In the Holy Scriptures, this oath is reiterated more than forty times. Here is just one example: “He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac. Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance’” (Psalm 105:8-11). There is no other passage in which there are so many words used to describe God’s unyielding commitment to Israel: covenant, word, oath, confirm, commandment, a thousand generations, statute, everlasting covenant. A person has to have a terrible bias not to understand that God is assuring the Jewish people the perpetual right to the Land of Israel in the strongest possible language.

Fact #9. Israel’s sin and resulting exile from the Land of Israel never annulled God’s covenant with His Chosen People,

nor did it permanently abrogate our right to the Land of Israel: “Yet in spite of this (Israel’s disobedience), when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so abhor them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God. But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors” – which includes the Land of Israel (Leviticus 26:44-45). Our exile from Israel was meant to be temporary! In Deuteronomy 30:1-5, Moses specifically predicted that we would experience a time of obedience and blessing within the Land, followed by a period of disobedience and exile from the Land, followed by spiritual restoration to God and physical restoration to the Land: “So it shall be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind in all nations where the Lord your God has banished you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul according to all that I command you today, you and your sons, then the Lord your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the people where the Lord your God has scattered you. If your outcasts are at the ends of the Earth, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you back. And the Lord your God will bring you into the Land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it.”

It’s no coincidence that after two thousand years of exile, the Chosen People are being restored to the Land that our fathers possessed, and simultaneously, we are being spiritually restored to God through the Messiah, as is evidenced by the growth of the Messianic Jewish movement in Israel and around the world.

The Son of God Himself predicted that because the majority of Israel did not believe He was the Messiah, Jerusalem would be destroyed, and we would be exiled among the nations, but eventually, we would return to Israel (Luke 21:23-24). This prophecy began in 70 AD when Jerusalem was destroyed, and then again in 135 AD, when the Second Jewish Revolt against the Roman Empire was crushed. We were scattered to the nations, and lost political control of Jerusalem. However, over the past 2,000 years, there were always some Jewish people who remained in the Land of Israel. Starting in the 1880’s, this prophesied regathering of Jewish people to Israel picked up speed, and now there is a reborn nation of Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, with 5.3 million Jewish people regathered from more than 70 countries, just as Israel’s Messiah predicted.

Fact #10. In His prophetic Word, God promised to regather us to “our own Land”:

“I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands, and bring you into your own Land… And you will live in the Land that I gave to your forefathers” (Ezekiel 36:24, 28). Again Ezekiel predicts: “Thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own Land’” (Ezekiel 37:21). Jeremiah adds: “‘Behold days are coming’ declares the Lord, ‘when it will no longer be said, “As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,” but, “As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the north and from all the countries where He had banished them.” For I will restore them to their own Land which I gave to their fathers’” (Jeremiah 16:14-15). Ultimately this regathering to our own Land will be greater than the Exodus out of Egypt!

Fact #11. In His prophetic Word, God calls this restored Land “Israel” – not “Palestine”:

“I will open up your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the Land of Israel” (Ezekiel 37:12). The name “Palestine” comes from the Philistines, the ancient enemies of the Jewish people. “Palestine” was the derogatory name given to the Land of Israel by the Romans after they conquered us. But throughout the Word of God, this Land is always called Israel – never Palestine.

Fact #12. God, speaking to us through the prophet Ezekiel, informs us that this Land is specifically reserved for the Jewish people:

“You O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come. For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you will be cultivated and sown. I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities will be inhabited and the waste places will be rebuilt” (Ezekiel 36:8-10). 2,500 years ago Ezekiel told us that in the Last Days the Jewish people would be restored to our Land. The Land would begin to prosper and the Jewish population would greatly increase. In the past century these prophetic words have been coming to pass. The Land of Israel, which lay barren for centuries, has seen increasing numbers of the sons of Israel returning to our ancient homeland, repopulating the cities and cultivating the Land.

Fact #13. 2,500 years ago the Lord also told us that the Jewish return to the Land would provoke a reaction from Israel’s neighbors:

“Because the enemy has spoken against you ‘Aha’ and ‘The everlasting heights have become our possession’ … Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My Land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and scorn of soul, to drive it out as a prey” (Ezekiel 36:2-5). Even though the nations surrounding Israel would claim possession of the Land of Israel for themselves, and try to drive out its rightful Jewish inhabitants, God repudiates the claims of these nations. Even though the majority of the Jewish people were exiled from our Land (there always was a remnant of Jewish people who remained within Israel), that doesn’t give anyone else the right to claim the Land of Israel for themselves. If a landlord has some bad tenants that he evicts from his property, he does not expect anyone else to enter his vacant property and claim it for their own. Due to our sins, the Landlord of Israel evicted most of us from the Land, but that didn’t give the Romans, the Byzantines, the Crusaders, the Ottomans or the Arabs the right to claim God’s holy Land for themselves.

Fact #14. God will severely judge any nation who divides up any part of this special Land:

“In those days and at that time when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My Land” (Joel 3:1-2). When Messiah Yeshua returns, the fortunes of the Jewish people will be fully restored, and the nations will be summoned to Jerusalem, where they will be judged for scattering the Jewish people and dividing up our Land.

Fact #15. Eventually this conflict over the Land of Israel will entangle the entire world:

God, speaking through the prophet Zechariah in 12:1-3, in the Sixth Century BC, predicted: “Behold I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around” (the nations will react to the regathering of the Jewish people with senseless behavior and irrational hatred); “and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. And it will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples” (Israel’s Islamic neighbors want to destroy the hated “Zionist Entity” because the Islamic worldview teaches that the entire world will ultimately come under the control of Islam. A Jewish state in the midst of the Moslem Middle East is by its very existence an insult to Allah and Islam, and must be destroyed. Islam can have no true and lasting peace with Israel – only a temporary cease-fire. Hostilities will once again be renewed when Islamic strength is renewed. At its core, this is a religious conflict – not a political or economic one); “all who lift it will be severely injured.” (The nations of the world will be drawn into this conflict and try to remove the Jewish presence from Jerusalem. However, be warned – every nation that tries to remove the Jewish people from our Land and capital city will be severely injured). “And all the nations of the Earth will be gathered against it.” (The world’s united nations will wage a final world war in the Middle East, directed against Israel).

It’s amazing to see this 2,500-year-old prophetic scenario shaping up before our very eyes! Zechariah’s prophecy continues and informs us that the army of the united nations will be defeated; God will destroy all those nations that fight against Israel; Israel will be miraculously saved and recognize Yeshua as the Messiah!

Fact #16. This will be a time of great difficulty for the Jewish people, but they will be miraculously delivered out of it:

“Alas! for that day is great, there is none like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s distress, but he will be saved from it” (Jeremiah 30:7). The fires of anti-Semitism will reach their hottest point in the near future, but with God’s help, we will come through our fiery trials to a time of unparalleled salvation. Israel’s salvation and blessing will then overflow to the other nations of the world.

I regret that i have no idea who this author is or how to credit his work.

Antisemitism in Europe- Hey, Didn’t We Already Fight This War?

2019 Persecution of jews
Evil always finds someone else to blame.

This blog is pro-Israel because Yahweh said anyone who messed with His People would suffer, and anyone who blessed His People would also be blessed. We take this stand because we want to be on Yahweh’s side. Regardless. And we advise this for you too.

From of NEW YORK TIMES BY by Bari Weiss

Two years ago, a 27-year-old man named Kobili Traoré walked into the Paris apartment of a 65-year-old kindergarten teacher named Sarah Halimi. Mr. Traoré beat Ms. Halimi and stabbed her. According to witnesses, he called her a demon and a dirty Jew. He shouted, “Allahu akbar,” then threw Ms. Halimi’s battered body out of her third-story apartment window.

This is what Mr. Traoré told prosecutors: “I felt persecuted. When I saw the Torah and a chandelier in her home I felt oppressed. I saw her face transforming.”

One would think that this would be an open-and-shut hate crime. It was the coldblooded murder of a woman in her own home for the sin of being a Jew. But French prosecutors decided to drop murder charges against Mr. Traoré because he … had smoked cannabis.

If France’s betrayal of Sarah Halimi is shocking to you, perhaps you haven’t been paying much attention to what by now can be described as a moral calamity sweeping the West of which her story is only the clearest example. A crisis, I hasten to add, that’s perhaps less known because it has been largely overlooked by the mainstream press.

The most generous read of this enormous blind spot is that the story is not always straightforward; there have been some laudable steps to fight back. On Tuesday, for example, the French Parliament formally adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism when it passed a motion declaring anti-Zionism a form of Jew-hatred. Yet on the same day, more than 100 Jewish gravestones were found spray-painted with swastikas in a cemetery near Strasbourg — a potent reminder that governments are only as good as the culture and the people upholding them.

So allow me to put it plainly: We are suffering from a widespread social health epidemic and it is rooted in the cheapening of Jewish blood. If hatred of Jews can be justified as a misunderstanding or ignored as a mistake or played down as a slip of the tongue or waved away as “just anti-Zionism,” you can all but guarantee it will be.

Yet beneath the finger-pointing and the victim-blaming and the accusations of panic lobbed against a people that know a little something about persecution, there is the same old bigotry — the hatred of Jews that has presaged the death of so many seemingly civilized societies. A hatred that still, after centuries, exerts its powerful allure during periods of political and economic unrest, when the angry, the confused, the shortchanged and the scared look for simple explanations and a scapegoat. And even those who seek to uplift the marginalized can’t seem to find their voice when it comes to Jews facing anti-Semitism.

Take a look at some of the events around the Thanksgiving holiday, incidents that have kept Jews all over the world glued to their phones, and which have driven some to update their and their children’s passports.

Start with Britain. Last Friday night, a rabbi who had just left a synagogue was beaten on the street by teenagers screaming, “Kill the Jews.” These now-regular occurrences come as there’s a decent chance that the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will become the next prime minister — giving anti-Semites the imprimatur of a major Western government.

Mr. Corbyn’s long history of slurs against Jews and Israel, his warm words about his “friends” in Hezbollah, and his worldview, which finds far more to admire in countries like Russia and Venezuela than England itself, are well documented. To choose just the latest headline: The BBC, he said on Iranian state television, is “biased” toward saying that “Israel has a right to exist.” (My favorite remains his remark that British Zionists “who, having lived in this country for a very long time, probably all their lives, don’t understand English irony.”)

The fish rots from the head, and so it has with Labour. According to Britain’s chief rabbi, Ephraim Mirvis, there are 130 cases of outstanding complaints of anti-Semitism against Labour Party members. Ninety-three percent of British Jews say they won’t vote for Labour. Forty-seven percent say they will “seriously consider” emigrating if Labour wins. And yet the latest polling shows Labour rallying.

Other issues, Jews are told, are more important than their own safety. Sometimes their fears are dismissed as “hysteria.” The socialist filmmaker Ken Loach has called it a “witch hunt.” The powerful union leader Len McCluskey has accused the Jewish community of “intransigent hostility.” When Rabbi Mirvis took the extraordinary step of weighing in on the election, insisting that the very “soul of our nation is at stake,” he was accused, variously, of bad faith, of taking focus away from the real threat of right-wing bigotry, and of actually stoking anti-Semitism himself.

Jewish Voice for Labour, the party’s pet Jewish front group, has codified all of these gaslighting tactics in a document that helpfully lays out the strategy for how other political groups and movements with a will to power can shut down Jewish concerns about organized, systemic anti-Semitism.

Over in Italy, the town of Schio decided against establishing a Holocaust memorial — the subtle, brass “stumbling stones” called stolpersteine that dot the streets of European cities where survivors of Hitler’s genocide still stroll — on the grounds that 14 stones in a city of 40,000 would prove too divisive. “Let the victims rest in peace” said Alberto Bertoldo, a local politician. The memorial, he said, would risk “generating new hatred and division.”

While in Schio the Holocaust proves a divisive moral issue, in Montreal it was a planned trip to Israel. Jordyn Wright is a Jewish sophomore who sits on the board of the Students’ Society of McGill University. Over winter break, she is planning, like hundreds of other North American Jewish college students, to go to Israel with Hillel. As a result of that trip, the student government voted to call for her resignation. Never mind that the trip included time with Palestinians in the West Bank. Never mind that another student government leader is also going; apparently because that student is not a Jew, no resignation was required.

I toggled over the weekend between Ms. Wright’s chilling account of the history of anti-Jewish discrimination at her school and The Washington Post, which had published a frothy profile of Valerie Plame, the former C.I.A. officer who is now running for Congress as a Democrat in New Mexico.

There we learn that Ms. Plame looks “astoundingly good, at 56, as if the high-altitude desert air has preserved her skin since the day she arrived here 12 years ago.” Yet nowhere in the long article does the reader learn that two years ago, Ms. Plame tweeted an essay called “American Jews Are Driving America’s Wars” by a man famous for his anti-Jewish conspiracy thinking on a website that flirts with Holocaust denial. She also shared an article that linked Israel to the Sept. 11 attacks. It somehow didn’t merit mention.

Elsewhere in the Democratic Party, Linda Sarsour, the activist who was removed from her leadership position in the Women’s March thanks to her history of anti-Semitic scandals and who now serves as a surrogate for the presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, gave a talk on Friday to a group called American Muslims for Palestine. The part of her talk that circulated online focused on the apparent hypocrisy of progressive Zionists: How, Ms. Sarsour asked about people who are the No. 1 target of white supremacists, can they claim to oppose white supremacy when they support “a state like Israel that is built on supremacy, that is built on the idea that Jews are supreme to everybody else?”

Lest you think this is “just anti-Zionism,” consider that the Sanders surrogate was speaking at a conference that printed the following sentence in its program: “Zionism has come in like a disease to destroy the purity of Al Quds.” (Al Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem.)

Should I tell you about a Christian fundamentalist show on TruNews hosted by a man named Rick Wiles? TruNews was granted an interview by Donald Trump Jr. and its representative was called on by President Trump at a news conference. Last week on his show Mr. Wiles claimed that Jews are behind the impeachment proceedings against the president. A “Jew coup,” he called it, that would replace Mr. Trump with “a Jewish cabal.”

Should I tell you about the swastikas found at Sixth & I, a synagogue and a hub of Jewish cultural and intellectual life in Washington? Or the ones painted in red on a statue of the great Yiddish writer Sholem Aleichem in Ukraine?

Or that on Monday morning in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, a Jewish subway rider reported that another woman yelled slurs and threatened to throw her onto the tracks? And that the following day, also in Crown Heights, three teenagers hurled rocks at a Jewish elementary school bus, breaking a window.

There is a theme here. The theme is that Jew-hatred is surging and yet Jewish victimhood does not command attention or inspire popular outrage. That unless Jews are murdered by neo-Nazis, the one group everyone of conscience recognizes as evil, Jews’ inconvenient murders, their beatings, their discrimination, the singling out of their state for demonization will be explained away.

When you look at each of these incidents, perhaps it is possible still to pretend that these are random bursts of bigotry perpetrated by hooligans lacking any real organization or power behind them.

But Mr. Corbyn’s electoral prospects in Britain tell a different, far more distressing story — that a person with some of the same impulses as those hooligans can stand within spitting distance of the office of prime minister. This is what happens when a culture decides that Jewish lives are stumbling stones.

Iran and a 3000 year old Prophecy

Written eleven years ago, this description of what God’s plans for Iran and the Middle East still stands true. Yahweh is outside time, and His words remain to be fulfilled. Some of them take thousands of years. Today, 2019-2020 the Middle East is still in the cross hairs. December 6, 2019 Uprising in Iran

The purpose of divine prophecy is to prepare us so we are not surprised or moved by international wars and rumors of wars. Yahshua said “watch and pray.” The Bible was written for all men, not just Jews and Christians. Be ready.

THE PROPHECY OF EZEKIEL 38 By PAT ROBERTSON

Friends, you might like to know what the Bible has to say about Israel in the last days. Here’s what the Book of Ezekiel tells us in the thirty-eighth chapter:

Ancient Prophecies now being FulfilledEzekiel 38:1-9 (NASB) And the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him and say, ‘Thus says the Lord

GOD, “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.

I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them splendidly attired, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them wielding swords; Persia, Ethiopia and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet; Gomer with all its troops; Beth-togarmah from the remote parts of the north with all its troops—many peoples with you. Be prepared, and prepare yourself, you and all your companies that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them.

After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them. You will go up, you will come like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.” ’ ”

This is the prophecy of Ezekiel, that in the latter days a coalition of nations is going to come against Israel. Let’s look at a map of the region, and find out what nations are included in Ezekiel’s prophecy. Israel is in the center. The Bible refers to Israel as the “navel of the earth.” Surrounding Israel are the other nations mentioned in Ezekiel:

There is Put – which is modern day Libya. Ethiopia, more correctly translated Cush, or what we know as modern day Sudan. Gomer is the Caucasian area of Eastern Europe. Beth-togarmah which may be Turkey. Gog and Magog, comprised of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kurdistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and others.

Meshech, which is now the Russian Federation. Rosh means “head”, and is apparently Russia. Persia, which is modern day Iran. And what do these nations have in common? Most are Islamic states. Iran, Libya, Sudan, the “stan” countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kurdistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Turkey – all Islamic states and many are breeding grounds for radical Islamic terrorism. Iran has publicly declared its desire to see Israel annihilated. Iran would have to cross Iraq and perhaps come down through Syria on its way to the border of Israel. Just as Ezekiel has prophesied, these nations will gather together against the chosen people of God.

Ezekiel has painted a picture of modern day Israel as well. The prophet describes in the latter days, Israel will be gathered together from many nations. Israel will rebuild the nation that was desolate and will desire to live in peace in the land. That’s when this armada of essentially Muslim nations will be joined together with Russia to invade Israel. Now, here is a remarkable thing. Ezekiel says this group of nations will not include Egypt, or Jordan. It will not include Saudi Arabia or Yemen.

Isn’t it amazing that in an unprecedented move in 2006, members of the Arab League of nations, for the first time have denounced another Muslim group for provoking and attacking Israel? Who are these nations that have broken allegiance with this radical Muslim attack? None other than Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Together, they are condemning Hezbollah. In fact, they are hoping Israel is successful in diminishing this powerful terrorist organization along with its sponsors, Syria and Iran. Iran has become too powerful in the region.

The idea of an Iran, armed with nuclear weapons, is a threat to Arab nations as well as Israel. This is the situation described by the prophet Ezekiel. You ought to read your Bibles, Ezekiel 38. Can this be a prelude to that? We’re not sure, but it could be. As we begin to see the line-up of nations conforming to the prophecies of the Bible, we can be very sure of the outcome: God has promised that He will destroy the enemies of Israel and bring glory to Himself.

What is Muslim (Islamic) “Abrogation”?

Ninety-percent of Americans won’t know what abrogation means, but the more complex a word and unfamiliar, the more complicated the meaning.

Abrogation means that additional rulings to the law negate or replace previous versions of the law. For example, the speed limit on Route 101 was at one time 65 MPH, but since it is now more heavily traveled, the speed limit is now 45. But who knew?

The problem in religious law is that when the law is changed you may have not heard of the changes. Islam can add a new regulation and you not know it, or perhaps even the old law may now be in force.

In practice Muslims were once peaceable, but with subsequent rulings on Jihad and the command to kill all unconverted people that they call Infidels, foreigners are in danger of death. That includes all of us in America and any non-Muslim nation, such as China.

At one time there were no child marriages for Islamic men, but now it is more common. https://www.theepochtimes.com/top-12-countries-where-girls-are-most-likely-to-be-child-brides_1481095.html

Consequently if you read the Koran you don’t get the full picture; it is full of “old rules.”. There are many other writings which post-date that book. Furthermore, anything Mohammed did is also something believers can imitate. This should help explain why the religion has become increasingly violent.

Christianity and Judaism have established law. What the Law of God says remains in effect. “I am the Lord, I change not” it says in Malachi 3:6. And “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:3

A newspaper story informs us that even Christian ministers report that Islam has the same God as Christians and Jews.  Absolutely not so.  And if you do not believe it because the Bible says so, at least believe it because the people who murder, rape and kill in Allah’s name never use the name of the Jewish-Christian God. They are two different spirits, two different theologies and two different patterns of life and death. The differences will prove to be important as the Presidential election of 2020 gears up.

If you want a free booklet about Islam call 1-800-700-7000, the 700 Club of the Christian Broadcasting Network. It can be read in about 20 minutes and describes the origins of Islam and why it is so sex and violence oriented.

Boycotting Israel – the Ultimate in Antisemitism

Why Communism is a Theological Issue

The Divine Right of Leaders

This kind of thinking lasted a long time until the Europeans had a snoot-full of bad leaders and so did the church. After centuries of church corruption Europeans were more than happy to end the dominance of the Roman Catholic church. Martin Luther had a lot of troubles, he was hunted down with the intention of killing him, but enough citizens and powerful people agreed with him and his opposition to the “holy” church that he survived.

After that the divine right of kings came into question. It already had eroded, especially in the never ending wars for power between England and France. Henry the Eighth told the Pope he was head pf the English (Protestant church) and hundreds of thousands of Europeans escaped to America to get out of the way of the religious warriors. The USA was the result of this conflict. We owe a lot to them.

Buddhism believes numbers=proof

But back to the communists. Buddhism, which is the common religion of China, believes that truth is verified by the sheer numbers of people who believe. The current President of China told everybody he is going to serve as their leader for his lifetime. How he managed this coup I do not know. But it is the natural equivalent of saying he is the god-person in charge. And because there are 1.5 billion people in China all accepting this belief, this is obviously true. The vast numbers do not lie.

The world over, Communism is under assault

Of course it is not true to the Americans who recognize no man as god. But it explains the conflict in Hong Kong. Mostly young students but also others do not accept the government of Beijing. If there is no agreement and thousands disagree, there is the possibility, at least as far as the Chinese Communists are concerned that they are no longer the gods-in-charge. They must stamp out all resistance in order to verify that they are gods, and legitimately hold power.

As a student of history I can assure you they will not win this contest. Every communist nation so far has faced controversy, rebellion, financial loss, civil war or all of the above. Venezuela is going through its collapse. China has financial troubles it has not faced, is not even willing to discuss, and Chinese communist leaders do not tell the truth anyway. That is no secret.

Socialism = Communism-lite

Cuba flounders along, trying to keep a little Catholic base and a little Communist but it is still a place of poverty and want. North Korea is committing suicide while South Korea is fat and happy. The communist or socialist nations where a false god is in charge are also collapsing – like Syria, Iran, Yemen, Northern Africa, California.

If you look at a map of the world, wherever there is Communist there is also drought. Where there is no water, people cannot survive, not their plants not their animals as well. These are places of death. People leave and that causes mass dislocation of migrants fleeing their homelands.

Hot spots equal little or no water resources.

“Replacement” Theology and the 2 Israels

Behind everything that is wrong in this world there is a lie lurking in the bushes of belief.

“Supersessionism (also called fulfillment theology and replacement theology) is the belief that the Christian Church supersedes or replaces the Israelites in God’s plan, and that the New Covenant nullifies the biblical promises made to the children of Israel, including the “Abrahamic Covenant, the Land Covenant, and the Davidic Covenant” according to Wikipedia.

For many years, as the Jews were scattered over the face of the planet, one could almost believe that, esp. if they ignored the writings in the Old Testament.

God’s word on this, and on all matters regarding His Word, is in stone.

The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8

2 Corinthians 1:20 [Full Chapter]
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! Galatians 3:21

2 Peter 1:4 (God has) given to us exceedingly great and precious promises,

No wonder the first thing we are told as believers is to study the Bible!

All the promises of Yahweh are for all time, all the promises to Israel, to Christians and to the wicked, including wicked nations. Period. Have you ever wondered why Muslim nations have little other than money, and even their oil is running out? They curse Israel and the curse of Yahweh (Genesis 12:3) rests on them.

There are over 32,000 Bible verses and they stand forever. There are promises to a natural people, The Jews, and another set of promises for the spiritual people, the Christians. The Jews have a homeland, Israel, and the Christians have a home in heaven. Jews occupy their land; we are ambassadors for Christ while on earth, and are merely sojourners on earth.

When in 1948 the Jewish homeland reappeared after a 2,000 year hiatus (the Palestinians never did have a home land there, although they’d like to think so) any belief in replacement theology should have disappeared. In an almost magical fashion, the nation was preserved during impossible attacks from the 600,000 Muslims surrounding this tiny country the size of New Jersey. Since that time the restoration of this nation is an economic miracle.

Military men do not study the wildly successful history of Jewish military success because there are too many miracles associated with them. There is a set of videos on this topic available from Amazon called “Against All Odds.”

God gave the land of Israel with its capital Jerusalem to the Jews; He gave new Israel (the Christians) the new city of Jerusalem in heaven. On earth Christians are travelers or sojourners with no particular landed home.

There is a Biblical penalty for believing in replacement theology or anything that takes away Yahweh’s promises. It’s called a curse as Yahweh told Abraham:

Genesis 12:3
3 I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

You cannot be more plain than that! {for curses see Deuteronomy 28}

Islam believes it is they who replace the Israelites. They have plans to defeat Israel and re-name it Ishmael. They have no entitlement to the land, and neither do the Palestinians who have never had a ruler in that land. Most of them were nomads from Jordan. Jordan is a nice country; maybe they could return.

And for related material see my blog, Why Muslims think they are entitled to the land of Israel, which is one of the top three of my posts.

Why does Islam (the Muslims) think they are entitled to the land of Israel?

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Israelis in a bomb shelter

Back in 2000 I preached at a Methodist church. The scripture for that Sunday was this:

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.

I feel sure the congregation was confused as I never discussed the scripture until the last minute when I said, “Peace will come to Jerusalem when the Prince of Peace comes to Jerusalem.”

Now more than ever my sermon could be called a prophecy. Never has the peace of Jerusalem seemed more endangered. Some modern prophets believe Jesus (Yahshua) will be accepted by the Jewish people in the next few years.  Of course that is not all Jewish people just as not all Christians believe the same thing.

Israel is in a constant state of war, 40 years of war. https://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-edit-the-other-cold-war-20191104-w46sjswy5jeophunlttyzt3plu-story.html

Places where children congregate, like schools and hospitals, have bomb shelters and people have jackets to protect themselves.

We are told to pray, “Come Lord  Jesus,” Revelation 22:20  [ I Am Coming Quickly ] He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Prophets do not agree on when Yahshua will return but all agree it will be in this century.

Before You Buy that Thanksgiving Turkey

This happened when I was living in China.  I was in the mood to cook something at home.  I’d tried some local  mutton and no amount of cooking could turn what I had purchased into anything easier to eat than my American shoes.  Into the trash it went.halal-meat

Then I headed to a little meat shop around the corner, quite unaware that it was Muslim owned.  Little did I know that Muslims are not allowed to sell meat to “infidels” which, according to their religious system, I definitely am. After I saw him in his get up, I was glad to know why I was rejected and I left relieved.

It is against the New Testament rules to eat meat dedicated to a foreign god, in this case Allah.  The vast majority of Christians pay no attention to what they buy for meals, believing that the Department of Agriculture has things nailed down in terms of inspection.

However, we have never had to worry about our food being offered as a sacrifice to Allah until now.  Alas, the Butterball people have been allowing an Islamic priest to say prayers over our favorite turkeys when they are slaughtered, a clear violation of this passage.

This passage from Corinthians  is long but if we as Christians join in with idol worship, we can ruin our public testimony, even though we have no belief that our behavior  is wrong.  Let Paul explain it.  The Message version is very clear.

1 Corinthians 8:3-13

1-3 The question keeps coming up regarding meat that has been offered up to an idol: Should you attend meals where such meat is served, or not? We sometimes tend to think we know all we need to know to answer these kinds of questions—but sometimes our humble hearts can help us more than our proud minds. We never really know enough until we recognize that God alone knows it all.

4-6 Some people say, quite rightly, that idols have no actual existence, that there’s nothing to them, that there is no God other than our one God, that no matter how many of these so-called gods are named and worshiped they still don’t add up to anything but a tall story. They say—again, quite rightly—that there is only one God the Father, that everything comes from him, and that he wants us to live for him. Also, they say that there is only one Master—Jesus the Messiah—and that everything is for his sake, including us. Yes. It’s true.

In strict logic, then, nothing happened to the meat when it was offered up to an idol. It’s just like any other meat. I know that, and you know that. But knowing isn’t everything. If it becomes everything, some people end up as know-it-alls who treat others as know-nothings. Real knowledge isn’t that insensitive.

We need to be sensitive to the fact that we’re not all at the same level of understanding in this. Some of you have spent your entire lives eating “idol meat,” and are sure that there’s something bad in the meat that then becomes something bad inside of you. An imagination and conscience shaped under those conditions isn’t going to change overnight.

8-9 But fortunately God doesn’t grade us on our diet. We’re neither commended when we clean our plate nor reprimanded when we just can’t stomach it. But God does care when you use your freedom carelessly in a way that leads a fellow believer still vulnerable to those old associations to be thrown off track.

10 For instance, say you flaunt your freedom by going to a banquet thrown in honor of idols, where the main course is meat sacrificed to idols. Isn’t there great danger if someone still struggling over this issue, someone who looks up to you as knowledgeable and mature, sees you go into that banquet? The danger is that he will become terribly confused—maybe even to the point of getting mixed up himself in what his conscience tells him is wrong.

Studying other religions

In addition, there is the issue to studying other religions.  We are told not to do it.  The same principles apply here too.  Someone who is not able to be discretionary about what he puts in his mind may become confused.  People with little spiritual foundation can easily get off track with occult information that they are not ready to absorb.  You are free to read those books but why would you if there is nothing there but religious junk food?

11-13 Christ gave up his life for that person. Wouldn’t you at least be willing to give up going to dinner for him—because, as you say, it doesn’t really make any difference? But it does make a difference if you hurt your friend terribly, risking his eternal ruin! When you hurt your friend, you hurt Christ. A free meal here and there isn’t worth it at the cost of even one of these “weak ones.” So, never go to these idol-tainted meals if there’s any chance it will trip up one of your brothers or sisters.”

What you are free to do and what you should be doing publicly are two different things. And you can apply this to some concerts and  musical events, plays and other creative venues that glorify evil in some measure.

Now back to turkeys. To me personally this is no big deal because I don’t like turkey and I never buy it for myself. But my children do.

But Paul does show how our public behavior can be a stumbling block.  Muslims need to know that Christianity does not accept any Muslim doctrine, and since many of them will be moving to the USA our public stance is going to be much more important.

If you think this is nutty, you can read more online about it at How do you like your Butterball turkey?

The Five Worldviews

Political philosophy is based on assumptions about the nature of man. I mean here “Man” as generic not as gender/male.

The Western Worldview

Western governments assumed that man is an imperfect being and that he arrives on the planet flawed, and will live out his life doing both good and evil according to his education, genes, and environment. Judeo-Christian theology follows this assumption and Western governments worked on this premise ever since.

Kings, that is power brokers, took over because that is what power does, but after England (and Europe) went through centuries of wretched leaders and their cavorting, the Americans said no more, and devised a government based on this same assumption that man was not only flawed but that he required a government that recognized the flaws in all men and balanced out their lust and ambitions in planning governance, hence the US Constitution.

The Eastern Worldview

Eastern Man believes that humans are born into a system with a set position in the social order. Up until the Communist revolution in China, baby girls were not given names unless they were born into the aristocracy. Common folk named their girls Sister 1, Sister 2, etc. Communist egalitarianism stopped that. Women were now equal. (Aristocratic girls always were equal.) And everyone was part of a social class where they were stuck forever.

Chairman Mao didn’t do a lot of good but that change was smart. He also required a common language instead of the mishmash of dialects, a change which helped China to enter the wider world. Communism in China broke up the rigidity of this social order.

The Communist Worldview

The third political philosophy and view of man was given voice by Karl Marx who regarded everyone as having no spiritual dimension, but only an economic motive for being alive and staying alive. Philosophically this was founded on the Darwinian doctrine of original creation by evolution, a doctrine which is dying a death with the extensive advances in science. Evolution has only been verified as being inside creation not outside of it after 150 years plus.

But at the time it supported the idea that humans had no life after death and were only interested in the comforts of the flesh. And Europe, always being in a state of flux, sopped it up as well as many other nations where rigid leadership kept them in poverty and want. Communism eliminates at least philosophically any moral code which sounds like fun for a while, but eventually anarchy takes over and the dissolution of a society.

Communism is based on “bait and switch”

The promise of communist leaders are the same as those of democracies everywhere – freedom of movement, choice and prosperity on your own effort. But the reality is always the same – control by a small group of masters whose first job is to take away the guns. Of course! That way dissidents cannot challenge the new masters. Eventually disillusionment of the entire population occurs and the society begins to deteriorate. The present (2020) state of Russia is a good example of how a society loses at all points after it has embraced a false promise.

Disillusionment in China began in 1989, and the on-going protest in Hong Kong is a continuation of Tienanmen Square’s protests that year. People are not stupid; decades of failure proves the point that communism is a failure and then there are decades working out of the very ditch they dug.

So communism was temporarily successful in many areas but because it failed to recognize the spiritual natural of man, has continued to decay as a choice. The visible collapse of communism in Hong Kong, China is a good example. It does not work for the modern world.

The Islamic Worldview

The Middle Eastern nations believe in the evil nature of man but Islam, which has its roots in Judaism, adds to that the doctrine that Islam will take over the entire world. You can see that this theology is not going to work for the balance of the planet. Most nations will fight off any takeover if they have the firepower.

Worldviews in Isolation

Some isolated societies were not touched by these assumptions. The Quechua Indians thought everyone was evil and going to eat them. Groups like this can’t last. They become destroyed by their own fear. Eskimo tribes lived isolated lives in great harmony, but these exceptions were always small.

There are your choices. You’ll notice it is all based on a belief about the nature of man. As long as these worldviews are in conflict we cannot and will not have international peace and harmony. Nations and individuals act and react based on what they believe in their heart of hearts.

The Bible says simply, “The heart of man is evil above all things and desperately wicked.” And this situation is the cause of wars and conflict from the lowest to the highest level of society.

The lesson we can learn from this is to identify our assumptions because the future of our own lives and that of our fellows will be determined by the one we choose.

Why Study History

Throughout history governments and individuals either succeed or fail due to how well or how poorly they manage the levels of power between them. So the smart student who does not want a pile of work studies history because it continues to repeat itself. They need only memorize the names of the leaders and their various nations and data which changes from decade to decade. Some smart math student could create an algorithm to show at what point this never ending conflict will move in a different direction. History does not know the word status quo.

Governments limit individuals, and individuals seek more liberty.

This is the conflict in a nutshell, balancing the strength of the individual and the long arm of the government. When there is no balance, the nation is out of whack. Every bureaucracy withdraws some liberty from the individual which does not make it wrong, unless it is too much liberty being given up or it was confiscated. The arguments against socialism include this quote from Ben Franklin,  “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Liberty lost is very hard to regain.

Every political contest involves these two elements

History shows this clearly. The lone cave dwelling human and his family is a government at the lowest level, but for any progress to be maintained, warfare against a predatory neighbor requires that these family units gather together to form a mutually advantageous group. To do this requires that each person give up to the group some authority, power, and of course money and resources. It requires a leadership team as well. If the team or the leader becomes too strong the society stagnates; if the enemies gain ascendancy, the society breaks up. So the larger the governmental unit, or the more prosperous in the case of the USA, the stronger that group is.

A closed society stays that way

For smaller societies constant mismanagement of resources and unrest keep it in failure mode. Afghanistan has been involved in war for 60 years and is going nowhere. They cannot or will not negotiate a balance between the bureaucracy and the individuals in spite of considerable involvement from other nations, both for good and for ill. It was illegal to teach women for example. The USA forces repeated efforts to stop that and start schools for girls met with guns and knives. This is in spite of well-documented proof that children raised by educated women are more successful than those who are not. But then today’s men would need to be educated before they would know that wouldn’t they? So a closed society stays that way, forever in poverty, isolated and legitimately afraid of their neighbors.

Participatory democracy balances interests

Governments that function best keep this in mind which is why participatory democracy works so much better. When people take part in their government they can cut it down when it gets out of hand. That explains the election President Trump and Boris Johnson.

Today institutions are under fire

Other nations are also seeing their citizens rebel against bureaucratic intrusion. The European Union might be blaming other nations for their inertia but their own institutional bias caused these problems. Some economic prophets say the EU will eventually end, or there will be European anarchy. It all depends on whether leadership comes to the fore to negotiate a peace. Today, 2019, across the planet citizens are increasingly resisting government intrusion and laws.

People locked into institutional mindsets scoff at the “populists” and right wing labels for everything they do not like but when you scrape away the paint, you find it is the age-old conflict between individuals and institutions. In Venezuela the bureaucracy and the army stayed put, and the population left. They became refugees to other nations. In Syria, the government simply bombed the citizens who questioned its behavior. The nation is a pile of rubble today. Both Iran and Saudi Arabia are in a standoff but both nations thought they could embrace and calcify the past. Can’t be done. Time marches on with or without you.

Literature confirms history

This is not new. The Greek drama Antigone (circa 440 B.C.E.) covers the same turf. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet shows how private lives were damaged by cultural considerations, which describes much of European history. The USA has managed to keep individualism front and center even though is has gone to extremes. For example, there is no scientific basis for gender reassignment and this will eventually collapse. It is individualism run amok. When individualism gets out of hand it is called anarchy which degenerates into civil war.

Imperialism is a form of war

Roman Imperialism, British Imperialism, Soviet Imperialism and now Chinese Imperialism all began as economic adventures and developed into chattel societies. All but the Chinese variety is gone, and even that is being tested.

The Pacific Rim is tired of being used; Vietnam was the first communist government to resist the long arm of Chinese presumption. Now Hong Kong is conducting its own, largely successful protest. Of course there are thugs and hooligans involved in all these conflicts because those loners just love a fight, but underneath there is real angst which must be corrected. The individual has suffered too long. The pendulum will swing back but today it is all about war against institutions.

Why History is superior

In my experience there is nothing scientific about Political Science. Politics is often called an art because the individuals must balance the competing interests of diverse and often intractable participants. The Bureaucracy Loving among us do not realize how difficult this is because they conceive as governments having always the bayonet to make their word stick. Individuals have no weapons but they have a voice. The Baltic States won their freedom in the 1990s by singing! They sang in unison and the Soviet masters were too cowed to take them on in spite of their tanks, guns and bayonets.

Investigations of corruption

Currently in the United States the hubris of the Washington Bureaucracy is increasingly under investigation – the CIA, the FBI and the DOJ all involved in an attempt to overthrow the presidency of Donald Trump. The evidence is mounting. Nervous journalists are wondering whether they can personally afford to touch this. Will it mean an end to their career? They could be too close to the bureaucracy and endanger their jobs.

You see how this works. The Deep State is an example of how institutions become enemies of their own governments and people. Many nations do not have corrective options in place. Because of American diversity and freedoms we can handle this kind of corruption, in spite of it taking a great deal of time.

The Prince of Peace

Finally, this blog is about the Mind of God. The Greek plays predate Christianity, so it is not a religious issue, unless you believe the government is God, and some do; or perhaps you believe each individual is god, and that happens as well.

The Bible clears this conflict up for the individual. In the world of the God directed person, God is the government. He makes the decisions based on an omniscient mind and directs the person in the way he or she should go. It is a tricky little dance to keep oneself in the will of God and skirt or affect as the case may be the world and its Institutional vs. Individual war. It means living in the multiverse of the spiritual about which I will have much to say in the future.
